You came over. It was pleasant at first, albeit a bit awkward as we are trying to feel each other out and get reacquainted. We sit on my sofa and make idle chit chat. I try not to let uncomfortable silence enter our space. I make mention of something funny on TV to spark some interesting conversation from you.
After a few minutes our lips find each other. Its actually very pleasant I am enjoying tasting your lips and tongue.
Something begins to stir but I'm not sure what it is. We feverishly make out for awhile then I come to my senses and end things.
Me: "I think we need to stop now before we get to a point of no return."
Him: "I thought we were already there."
Silly man, we woman can always pull away if we seriously want to. I come to realize I like you but not enough. You eventually leave.
Weeks go by and we don't see each other. You call me, I call you but no face time. That all makes me even more weary of this situation. I come to realize you are not the one.
You never once suggest we go out anywhere. You never even invite me to your house. A girl wants to be wooed every now and then. Made to feel special. Out of the blue you call me and want to come over. Against my better judgement I agree.
We sit there, we chit chat. It's all very superficial and pleasant. Just pleasant. You attempt to kiss me but I always stop it at no more then a peck. You attempt to touch me. I thwart all of your advances. You go home. You are not the one.
Several weeks go by and we do not speak. I'm good with that. I feel nothing for you and think its best we cease all communication. Then all of a sudden....RING! My phone rings and I look down at the display and your name appears. I press the Ignore button. Why are you calling me? We have nothing to say to each other.
All you want to do is come to my house and try to have your way with me. What have you done to deserve it? It sure isn't your witty repartee. It's not all the cool places we've gone together.
RING!! There you go again. You are not the one.
